Faeries, fairies, fay and sprite.
Wee folk, little folk, fair folk alike.
Over time, fairies have kinda grown to be many different kinds of creatures depending on the place and culture. Brownies, trolls, goblins, gnomes, elfs, and many others were all considered fairies in old folklore. Because fairies during the old days, simply were ‘other-worldly creatures who do simple specific tasks’. Sometimes they were brownies, who sneak into houses at night to sweep the floors or mend the shoes if they see a payment offered on the table. Sometimes they are sprites, who collect thoughts and whispers of trees and pass them along to another.
