Although fairies of old vary greatly from one another, all of them appear to have an innate ability to hide away from human eyes. Only appearing to them when they want to, or are accidentally caught.

And all the church clergies, and all the gov agents,
Couldn’t catch the fairies for all their tax evasions,
Oh I’m sure faeries only use legal tax avoidance measures 🙂
